Erect, monocarpic, glandular herb 10 – 30 cm high, with its basal leaves crowded into a loose rosette. Flowers numerous, crowded, reddish or greenish, arranged into a conical inflorescence during the period June – September. Thrives on rock crevices, dry stone walls and cliffs.
