Erect, rhizomatous perennial with solitary, bright-green stems, 50 – 100 cm high branched in the upper third. Numerous flowers, white with a brownish or purple median stripe arranged in impressive umbels, appear during the period April – June. The basal leaves usually dry and wither at blooming. Grows in open pine forest and shrubland.
