Erect, robust, hairy perennial up to 1 m high with numerous biennial flowering stems. The flowers are small, grouped into rounded umbrella-like heads, surrounded by cup shaped greenish-yellow bracts during March – April. Can be found on dry slopes in maquis and phrygana on limestone.
