Στην Κύπρο υπάρχουν δύο είδη θαλάσσιας χελώνας; Πρόκειται για την πράσινη χελώνα (Cheloniamydas) και την χελώνα καρέτα καρέτα (Caretta caretta) οι οποίες γεννούν και αναπαράγονται στις παραλίες του Ακάμα.
