A winter visitor mainly and a migratory species for Cyprus and the Akamas peninsula. It’s observed singly, in a great variety of habitats, mainly in forested sites and areas with plenty of bushy vegetation, open areas with tree patches, orchards, parks in villages and even cities.
It’s a typical winter visitor, it moves mostly at the lower parts of trees and on bushes, close or on the ground, looking for earthworms, insects, dropped fruit etc. It’s a small sized, somewhat chubby shape with characteristic colors. It has brownish upperparts, a bright orange-red throat and chest, whitish belly and a grey outline between head-chest and upperbody.
